We are reopening July 5th!

During this time, our leadership put together a task force to prepare our church to reopen responsibly and with a protocol in place.  This page should have all the information you need to be informed and connected.
Further information will be communicated here, and in our E-News.

July 5th Sunday Service Options

Registration is needed to attend either services.

Guidelines for Children’s 9:15 AM Service

Our 9:15 AM Children & Family service will be out on our front lawn.  If you plan to attend, then we encourage you to bring chairs and maybe a blanket for your designated circle.

PLEASE be sure to bring your mask, lawn chairs and/or a blanket to sit on. You might also want to consider wearing sunscreen!

We ask that anyone over the age of 2 years old to wear a mask. We will have extras available at the welcome tent.

After parking, please head to the Welcome Tent located near the handicapped parking lot.

You will check-in at the Welcome Tent, have the opportunity to tithe* (a lockbox will be available for your convenience), and then be directed to a seating circle (these are spaced out according to CDC recommendations) on the front lawn.

Our service will begin at 9:30am (giving time for people to get settled) and will last approximately 30 minutes. You can expect kid-friendly music, prayer and a brief message.

At the conclusion of the service, we will ask families to leave the lawn in a socially distant manner. If you are planning to stay for the 10:45am service, we will ask you to remain seated (or in your circle) until others have vacated the lawn.

Restrooms will be available for use (one person/family at a time) in the church basement (entering & exiting through the Youth Room basement entrance). Handicapped access will continue to be available if necessary through the Tower entrance.

While you will have the opportunity to tithe on site, you are welcome to continue to tithe via mail or online!

Guidelines for 10:45 AM
In-Sanctuary Service

Ushers and Staff will be inside and out at 10:15 AM to guide attendees inside and to their reserved pew.

We ask that anyone over the age of 2 years old wear a mask. We will have extras available at the welcome tent. Please wear your mask for the duration of the service.

After parking, please head to the Welcome Tent located near the handicapped parking lot.

You will check in there and then be directed to enter the building through the Tower Entrance.

You will be greeted by ushers in the Narthex who will direct you to your socially distant seat (we will be seating people at alternating ends of every other pew).

You will also have the opportunity to tithe in the Narthex (upon arrival) or at the exit door (Ormond Ave. side) of building at the conclusion of the service. You may also continue to mail in your offering or give online!

Our service will begin at 10:45am and will last approximately 1 hour - 1.15 hours.

You can expect a blended worship service with minor modifications (according to CDC guidelines)

At the conclusion of the service, we will ask congregants to exit the sanctuary as directed by our usher team. We appreciate your continued socially distant spacing and patience during this procedure in an effort to maintain safety for everyone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Contact us if you have any additional questions

When will Bethany Church be open for weekend services?

We plan to open July 5th. We will have a 9:15 AM service for children & families outdoors and a 10:45 AM service inside.

How many attendees will be allowed in the sanctuary?

While current state guidelines indicate that religious gatherings are excluded, we are operating under best practices for the safety of our congregation.  We will be seating individuals (or family units) in a socially distant manner (opposite ends of every other pew).

How long will the limited capacity be enforced?

We will continue to limit capacity to ensure the health and well-being of our congregation, staff, volunteers, and communities based on the recommendations of state-elected officials.

What if I’m not comfortable coming to a service yet?

That is okay! We know everyone has a different level of comfort, so please do what you feel is best for you and your family—whether that’s watching at home or joining us in person. We’re one big family, wherever we are!

Will my temperatures be taken as I enter the church?

No. However, please self-screen at home, and if you have any signs or symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home and worship with us online.

Can I still give my tithe or offering at the Church?

Yes, a box will be available at the back of the sanctuary where you can submit your offering and you can also give online.

Is my small group allowed to meet?

After much prayer and consideration, Bethany Church is reopening groups to meet in person! Because your safety is important to us, it is recommended that in-person groups be limited to 25 people and group leaders will encourage members to follow CDC guidelines (e.g., handwashing, physical distancing, staying home if sick). If your group would like to meet on site, please contact the church office to coordinate your meeting. If meeting in person, please take attendance each week for the purpose of potential contact tracing if necessary. Groups can also continue to meet virtually.

What is the plan for children’s ministry?

At this time, we will offer a modified service at 9:15am on Sundays on the front lawn for children & families. While we will not offer children’s church at the 10:45am service, we invite you to bring your children to the service if you’re comfortable. We have some additional activities planned for this summer, so please check your email and the website for announcements & updates. If you would like to be added to our Children’s Ministry email list, please click HERE.

What is the plan for youth ministry?

At this time, we are encouraging all youth to attend either the 9:15am or 10:45am services. We are continuing to offer modified programming on Wednesday evenings (please see the Youth Weekly Update email for updates) and some additional events. If you would like to be added to our Youth Ministry email list, please click HERE.

Why did Bethany wait longer than other churches to reopen?<br />

Pastor Paul and our leadership spent many weeks in prayer and discussion about what would be best for the members and guests at Bethany. They determined early July offered more time to prepare a safe, comfortable experience and possibly increase capacity (from 10 or fewer to 25% and now 50%).

Will the Sunday service continue to be livestreamed?

Yes! We will continue to livestream our 10:45am worship service.

Will the church be open for other activities during the week?

Our weekday activities will begin again on a case-by-case basis and are subject to change based on CDC, local, and state guidelines.  Our church office is coordinating use of the spaces in the church building.  Contact the church office via email or phone during office hours with inquiries. To stay up to date, join our weekly congregation email list.

What happens if it rains during the 9:15AM service?

In case of rain, the children & family service will be moved into the gym where masks will be required and attendance will be limited.  Overflow may be directed also to the Youth Room for prayer.  Preregistration lists will be utilized when communicating changes.
