Bethany Kid's Ministry
In a crazy world, it can be hard to find a place to call your own; we are excited to welcome kids from any walk in life to find a place where they belong. We strive to cultivate a welcoming and safe environment that encourages and engages the hearts and minds of kids so that they might recognize and know their value and of Christ’s love for them. We attempt to create opportunities for kids to enter into a relationship with Jesus Christ so that they will experience the fullness of salvation. We practice living life intentionally alongside families in order to encourage and equip them with the tools needed to grow in their relationship with God. As families grow in faith we pray that they will inspire others in their faith journey.
Ministry During Covid
During this unique time, we have adapted and reimagined many of our ministries in order that we might still minister to kids and their families. All of our programs and events have been designed in an attempt to provide for the needs of families at home. We have put together many virtual and digital resources that you can enjoy as a family at home. There are also some great in-person events that have been structured to maintain social distancing and other safety procedures. Whether families are staying home or engaging in safe community we are so excited to minister to you and remind you that you are loved by Jesus and the Bethany family.
Through the month of September Bethany will be hosting a family service outdoors on Sunday mornings. This service is perfect for kids, it is just under 30 minutes long with a few songs, prayers, and an object lesson. Each week the object lesson is based on a story from the Gospels and comes along with a fun little item that relates to the story and helps them remember the story throughout the week.
Throughout the fall Bethany Kids Ministry will be providing digital Children’s Church during the sermon every Sunday. Families will be invited to start the Children’s Church video before the sermon each week. The video will consist of a quick introduction, prayer, and memory verse practice, followed by a relatable video lesson from the Konnect HQ team. The Konnect HQ videos do a great job of taking real life problems and helping kids learn how to trust Jesus and apply the truths in the Bible to our everyday life. Children’s Church will end very close to the end of the main church service.
Weekly Family Devotion
Every Sunday there will be a guided devotional video for families based on the Gospel Project Curriculum that we have been using for years. The devotional will be about 10-15 minutes and can be done anytime during the week. This is a great chance to grow in faith as a family and dig into God’s word together
We want to bless the kids. We have put together some really amazing mystery boxes for every kid in our Bethany Family. There are some really great gifts that we hope reminds all of them how much Jesus and everyone at Bethany loves them. On the afternoon of Sunday, September 13 families can drive through the church parking lot and the kids can receive their mystery box. We’ll also have the cotton candy machine going! If you are able and comfortable we would love for families to record the kids opening the boxes and share them with Jake who can compile them into an encouraging video for the whole Church. For those families who can’t make it they can sign up for delivery later in the week
We are so excited to offer a safe opportunity for kids to get together to play and learn about Jesus. For six weeks (Sep 22 – Oct 27) Bethany Kids Ministry will be running out Tuesday Club program from 6pm-7pm. Kids will get a chance to enjoy activities, crafts, worship, and Bible lessons. This will be a wonderful chance for kids to socialize and worship together in community. Everyone at Bethany has certainly missed the blessing of being in community with kids and the energy they bring.
Bethany Kids Ministry is so excited to host another drive through event for families! This will help us keep people safe AND have fun! We are asking that you reach out to another family in your neighborhood. We want to bless and encourage families in our community.
In the parking lot of the church, we will have some great games set up that your kids can play FROM THE CAR. Games might include; memory matching, knock ’em over, toss ’em in. Kids will have a chance to win (everyone wins) some lollipops, silly toys, and stickers! There will also be some popcorn and cotton candy! Volunteers will be wearing masks and will have sanitizer and wipes on hand to keep things clean and safe.

Sunday school will begin again once the outdoor family service wraps up for the season (estimated end date September 27). For the rest of the year we will be hosting two Zoom Sunday School for kids. One class will be for preschoolers lead by our fantastic preschool team. The second class will be for all elementary students. Both classes will go from 9:30 to about 10:00. They will be following the Gospel Project curriculum which focuses on telling relatable stories from the Bible and connecting them to the big story of God’s love for us throughout all history. A reminder, zoom link, and password will be emailed out weekly.
Bethany Kids Show
The Bethany Kids Show is back! Every Wednesday at noon on Zoom Jake will be ready to check in with the kids, play some games, pray with the kids, and share a short Bible story. This is a great opportunity for the kids to connect with their friends as well as provide a midweek ritual for kids.
